Two Quick Years & The Best Photo of Summer
Two quick years ago I wrote my first blog post admitting to you that lurking just wasn't enough anymore. Two hundred eighty posts later I'm completely humbled and thrilled that you find The Whimsical Gardener a place worthy of your time and energy. Thank you for allowing me the honor of sharing my small garden adventures and observations with you.
You've made this endeavor one of great joy and I'm sincerely grateful for your continued presence here. It's my hope that you will always find plentiful inspiration and creativity when visiting and that we will continue to grow together as better gardeners and stewards of our little corners of this vast world.
As it was two years ago at this time, we are on the cusp of another school year. After scrolling through some summer photos it doesn't escape me that the best shot of summer was captured by my son.
Taken with his phone, he captured the true essence of summer's freedom and joy. Look closely...this shot will draw you in. As is so often the case there is more there than first meets the eye.
Enjoy...

I thank you for the showing up, the being present, the writing, the looking, the love, the life. You have SO MUCH TO OFFER. Your blog is wonderful. Thank you, thank you, thank you, friend.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you! Love that shot. Perfect capture of the summer feel.
ReplyDeleteI am so busy I just missed my 2 year blogiversary, but congratulations to the both of us. I am so glad we have been on this journey together! I've been staring at that great picture. Love it, but please dont tell me there is a snake in this (I'm sure it's just the reflection of the outstretched arm. It's just my imagination running wild). I just scrolled down and saw your new pic - almost didnt recognize you. Nice glasses! Have a lovely day. I should be back to blogging next week.
ReplyDeleteCat congrats on 2 wonderful years for you and especially for us...it has been a delight...I have my 2 year anniversary in Sept. That photo is delightful...I love the mirror image
ReplyDeleteJust like his mother, I think your son has a talent with the camera! Congrats on 2 years...you are such an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great shot - the framing, the combination of action and stillness, the quality of light, and the swans placidly taking it all in. Photos like this one constitute the fulcrum that might finally get me shoved off my resistance to buying a new/better/smarter phone.
ReplyDeleteTwo years! I hope you continue to enjoy the composing at least half as much as we your readers enjoy the results. Here's to another two!
Photography runs in the family, I must say. I assumed in something about the style, that *you* took that action scene!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary x 2! And you are right - that photo is amazing! Shot at just the perfect moment.
