What a Tease!

Did you feel the difference Saturday morning?  I would dare to say it was actually cool outside!  Well, briefly.  Yes, the calendar still says August but if you just close your eyes and let yourself go there...

Here's a little teaser as we anticipate the fall gardening season!  Love these colors!

Japanese Maple

Japanese Maple

To the gardeners out there:  I don't know the variety of this Japanese Maple - any ideas?

  1. Japanese maples have such beautifully cut leaves. What variety do you have?

  2. They are beautiful - I enjoy the way they move in a slight breeze. I'm not sure of the variety so I've amended the post to ask any gardeners if they might know. Thanks for your comment!

  6. Amy - after your butterfly weed post I did end up at the nursery and bought one! Thanks for the inspiration.

Julie - yes, definitely miss the east coast in the fall. I had my mom bring some leaves for me last time she came to texas during the fall!

Iris - thanks for visiting my blog and for your kind words! I appreciate you stopping by :)

  7. Hi, I stopped by when Pam suggested. I love Austin bloggers. I think your Japanese maple might be 'Tamukeyama.' If so, it's a good one and can handle the heat pretty well. It also turns a lovely red in fall.
