  1. My daughter now lives in Texas, near Houston. I wonder if Austin plants would do as well there. Beautiful photo.

  2. Lovely golden light! I am wondering if you have been or did see lots of Monarchs moving through your gardens?

  3. Hello Commonweeder! Houston is quite a bit more wet than Austin and tends to have less hard freezes. I think they are able to grow a lot more tropical plants than we are. Also, I think they may have more acidic soils so grow a lot of acid loving trees and plants. Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate your comment!

Hello Carol - yes, absolutely have been captivated by their antics in the yellow flowers I posted about the other day! In fact, I was able to capture a couple in pictures and will be posting soon on them. As always, I appreciate your continued comments and encouragement - thank you!

  4. Is your picture a close up of this white flowering shrub? http://flic.kr/p/8NCM25 I've seen it blooming in abandoned areas all over town, but I can't ID it.

  5. Hi Abbey, It does look to be the same although the one I photographed wasn't as large. It was as tall but not so round. I've seen them all over town too. I love all the wildflowers to be found this time of year! The butterflies are loving them too.

  6. Isn't it great how the Creation has been decorated with so many flowers with no effort on our part whatsoever ! This one is a beauty and well-captured Cat.

Ours are just about done here - the last ones were the wild purple asters.

  7. That looks a lot better than the wild flowers we get, which are by and large quite ugly!

Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
"Pooh!" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you."
