  3. Stunning! The exquisite composition in the photograph looks so otherworldly with the distant landscape . . . reminding me of mountains and the blue above and below! A green sky! Fabulous! Brava!! ;>)

  4. Gorgeous shot. With every photo you take I suddenly need a new plant. This time I need the pond too.

  5. Thank you for your generous compliments! The stock tank pond has been so much fun. The only advice I would give is go as big as you're able while still keeping everything to scale. I wish I had gone a couple feet wider! The lily has amazed me with its Oct/Nov blooms!

  7. That lily is surely amazing but my, how you arranged the picture is astonishing! The dark blue in the background and the green sure make for a wonderful picture!

How did you get Black Magic to glow so well?

  8. Thanks Tina. The green is the grass beyond the stock tank. The blue at the back of the flower is the rim of the stock tank and the blue under the flower is the water. I used a shallow DOF to achieve the blur of color.

For the elephant ear shot, the sunlight was shining through the front of the leaf. The photo was taken from the back to catch the light coming through. Thanks for your kind comments Tina. I appreciate you taking the time.

  9. The backdrop on the water lily just incredible. Thanks for explaining both shots to me. My camera is very old so not the greatest photos but I still try. I sure love yours!

  17. Beautiful shot of that water lily - we were blessed with many in our ponds this year and I managed to get some lovely shots - one now hangs framed on the wall. This one is certainly worthy of being framed !

  18. Beautiful photo... My water features consist of a 3 acre pond in my back yard..that my neighbor owns..and a container water garden I created last year. I don't think I could get away with planting lilies in the real pond, but maybe in my little container :)
