A spring evening walk reveals enchanting light effects in the garden.
Larkspur
Lyreleaf sage gone to seed
Elephant Ear: same leaf, different perspectives. Top three show the light shining through the leaf from behind. The last leaf captures the light shining on the back of the leaf.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and to the Moms out there, Happy Mother's Day!
Beautiful photos! Nothing more magical than a beautiful garden.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day Cat. Are you too undecided which to enter for GGW? I like the texture and lighting in your first elephant ear shot. Soft, beautiful and mysterious.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You've really captured the texture and beauty that elephant ears have. They're not just "big green leaves". :-)
ReplyDeleteIs this a special cultivar, or regular Colocasia esculenta, or some other species?
I love the larkspur photo. And Happy Mothers day, I hope your children give you blessings today and tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos - they look almost dramatic, don't they?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Cat. Your lighting is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Your photography is an inspiration. I thought I had nothing to photograph but you have inspired me to look deeper and closer. Your Mexican feather grass is just gorgeous. I NEED to get me some!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures...Happy Mother's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteCat, the photos of the elephant's ear are ridiculously fabulous. I love the first shot the best. You play with light so well.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the first Elephant's Ear photo. Such lovely color and texture, and you've captured the light so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I hope that you enter GGW photo contest this month!
ReplyDeleteGoodness! Your photography just gets better and better. Love all the textures in these!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to you too...I especially love the larkspur shot, but I have a soft spot for larkspur anyway. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos!! The last three remind me of a childrens book about three blind mice running along an elephant that all describe it as something completely different based on what they're experiencing. Sounds a bit like life to me. :o)
ReplyDelete@all, thanks so much for the kind words!
ReplyDeleteAlan, nothing out of the ordinary...colocasia regularis...
Thanks Donna...not sure if I'll enter this month...should have saved my Iris from last month for this months topic!
Oh that's great, i have thought of that at night, hmmm might try doing it aso sometime. That is a taro plant, the modified roots can be eaten.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Cat and from such unique and different perspectives! You truly have a gift in capturing light.
ReplyDeleteGosh how beautiful. I really like the first elephant ear, it is amazing and not familiar plant for me.
ReplyDeleteYou capture light and use it in your photographs so beautifully. I'd love to play around more and try and learn how to do something similar, but it has been really windy here for the past week, and nothing is staying still enough! I may have to resort to stakes...
