Celebrating Fall's Fabulousness with Cake!

It's time to start celebrating this fabulous season!  This cake is perfect for a quick autumn dessert.  My favorite variation of the recipe this time of year is the pumpkin spice cake.   Krusteaz makes a pumpkin spice mix you can find at Costco.  Mix the ingredients in one bowl, pour into a prepared Bundt pan and your whole house will be filled with the yummy scent of pumpkin spice in no time.  Nothing says fall like the aroma of pumpkin spice!

 Happy Fall, Y'all!

  3. Bundt?! Wgat's "bundt"? And what is a brundt pan? And what is a butter recipe cake mix? I am intrigued and confused... Talk about two peoples separated by a common language!!

  4. Janet, you're too cute! To ease the language barrier, you need to watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding. There is a whole funny scene in the movie about the Bundt cake!! It's basically a cake with a hole in the middle. There is a special Bundt pan that creates that hole. Here is a link to clear up any confusion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bundt_cake Also, the "butter recipe" is just the flavor of cake mix...so instead of chocolate, vanilla or lemon, it's butter. I hope you're intrigued enough to try it!

  5. I'm reminded of the time my sister declared she didn't like Bundt cake. After some discussion, it was determined that she didn't realize Bundt was a certain type of cake pan, not a certain type of cake. Nevertheless, she doggedly stuck to her position. She was in her thirties at the time, which made both the proclamation and the subsequent discussion even more absurd. "You don't like chocolate cake? Lemon cake? Spice cake? Vanilla cake? But you can bake all those in a Bundt pan, right? Is it the shape of the pan you don't like? That's not it? So what do you mean when you say you don't like Bundt cake?" etc., ad nauseum. Thanks for the recipe, and the chuckle.

  6. That's funny, Caroline. I'm glad you got a chuckle ;) I made several cakes for a cooking demo today...have some left over. I think I'll bring one to the MG training Tuesday.

  8. Thanks Cat, confusion dissipated. I've seen (but don't have) cake tins that create the hole in the middle, but have to admit that I have never heard of butter flavoured cake, am off to look for recipes...
