30 Day Challenge ~ Thanksgiving ~ Day 2

Today I'm thankful for sweet distractions while doing mundane chores.  The garden is always giving.

  1. Very interesting photo! I'm trying to figure out what it is. Is this a shadow of a flower reflected on a dish you are washing? You have a perceptive eye!

Also, thanks so much for your kind comment on my train and glider plane post! I think a memory book is a terrific idea!

  2. This is interesting! Most of us would have missed this. Btw, I have 3 blogs, not 2.

  3. What an intriguing image Cat. I've been stuck indoors all week doing chores, but although I'd rather be outside playing in the dirt, just occasionally pausing to enjoy the play of light on leaves is enough to keep me going. As you say, the garden is always giving, we just have to remember to notice.

  4. Lovely reflection, amazing how sometimes an image will present itself and all we have to do is capture it.

I really enjoyed the 30 Day Challenge on your earlier post. I watched the video with great interest.

  5. I love your idea of taking 30 days to offer gratitude. Living in gratitude is not always easy, but it is necessary if we want to be happy. And I think we often forget all the things for which we can be grateful. Even the hardships offer lessons that, in the end, give us great character....a good thing for which to be grateful. Thanks!

  7. Deb, you're very close! It's the shadow of a mum on the sink. The lower portion of the photo is the drain with a few soap bubbles. I shared your post on Facebook so my girlfriends could see it too...I told them we needed to add that adventure to our bucket list!

Wow, One...like I said, you have amazing stamina!

Janet, I'm often stopped in my tracks by the quality of the light...it provides a great little reprieve for the spirit.

Thanks, Karen, I'm glad you enjoyed the video...I thought it was really interesting too. A great deal of time can be taken up watching Ted videos!

You're so right @TSB, it's hard to have a hard heart when it's filled with gratitude.

    Thanks, Amy!

  11. My first comment didn't get posted, so I'll try again. I like the sentiment for today; it's a good way to appreciate of the simple tasks and not consider them boring. I love this Thanksgiving Challenge--it inspired me to comment here for the first time! :)
I will try to join for as many days as I can, and I look forward to reading your posts!

  13. Hi Cat, I did my first post yesterday at Tropical Nature Photos. It's not about Thanksgiving since we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here. Furthermore, I used to write down about the stuff I was thankful for a long period of time. Now, I would rather do something a little different. I call it Words in Pictures for 30 days.

  16. Welcome Bumble Lush! One of the reasons I write this blog is to inspire others so I'm so glad to hear you were inspired and will join in on the challenge. I'll be stopping by your blog as well to see what you're grateful for...looking forward to getting to know you!

So happy to know you'll be joining us, Tammy! You always have such an interesting, humorous perspective on life! Stop by anytime for a distraction. You're always welcome :)

Excellent, One! The goal of this challenge is to inspire myself and others to challenge themselves...it is definitely open to personal interpretations and I'm glad you'll be running with it in another direction. It will be interesting to see your personal variation.

Thank you, Joey. I'm thankful for you and your blog too...you're both always full of inspiration and encouragement.

Thank you, Jennifer...it's true isn't it? It gives and gives and I'm really hopeful about the different ways I experience its generosity this month.

  17. What a great photo! I read with interest the comments, trying to figure out what the shadow was on. Then I had to go back up to see the bubbles! I agree that the garden is wonderful for a short, sweet distraction. Even the days I'm stuck inside doing chores, I can look out and see a bloom or a butterfly, and it gives me great joy.
