Lovely, Cat. Isn't Nature amazing? I fell in love with milkweed seedpods a year ago when one popped in my garden. It was magical! I don't usually leave links in my comments , but I think you will enjoy it. http://www.thisgrandmothersgarden.com/2011/11/daily-blessings-november-7th.html
So timely. I just read Barbara Kingsolver's latest book which involves monarch butterfly migrations as part of the story line. It got me to thinking I need more milkweed in our spaces, something I'll attend to once the danger of freezes passes by once more.
Such a simple yet gorgeous shot. Really nice, Cat!
I usually enjoy Kingsolver's books and this one is on my list. Sarah Laurence did a review of it a few weeks ago and I'm hoping to pick it up over the holiday break. Thanks for your sweet words :) they make me happy.
I also thought of Barbara Kingsolver's novel when I saw your gorgeous image. You must read Flight Behavior. My review is here: http://blog.sarahlaurence.com/2012/11/flight-behavior-by-barbara-kingsolver.html
Clicked over here to say how much I liked the lovely seedpod photo, then saw the A.A. Milne words below and knew I had found a blog I would want to investigate more thoroughly. I'm quite the fan of Pooh wisdom, and I have that particular passage on a card I've saved from years ago. Love it!
I know I will be back for more! Laura http://lauranell.com
LOVE the photo! Seeds are promises that our gardens will bloom again. They always make me feel hopeful. :o) I pruned the birch branch but left the crepe myrtle alone. They can be kissin' cousins as far as I'm concerned. :o)
one of my favorite seed pods! Are you going to save the seeds or let them go and find a home on their own? Love the composition of the photo!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karin. Going to let them go where they will.
DeletePerfect wordless post!

ReplyDeleteYes, it's on my list at your recommendation! Hopefully this Christmas I'll get a chance to sit down and savor it.
DeleteAll those seeds so neatly tucked in formation waiting for the right conditions to be set free.
