They are so little and cute:) We have a ton of American Goldfinches and Lesser Goldfinches at our thistle feeder. I call them little piggies because they are eating constantly.
Those goldfinches are amazing little buggers, aren't they? They winter up north here, too. They seem so unfazed by the cold and wind and gray of winter. It's wonderful to have them around when so many other birds migrate to warmer climes.
Great name for this post! At first I didn't see anything but rather attractive plant stems, the all of a sudden - there they were! Goldfinches are welcome visitors here in Mississippi. Have a great day! Lea Lea's Menagerie

Are those goldfinches? Amazing how yellow birds can disappear in a bare tree!
ReplyDeleteBTW, it has to be "one-word Wednesday" - it can't be wordless because you added a word. ;)
I always do, Alan ... I'm just a rebel like that.

ReplyDeleteYes! They polished off an entire feeder in two days! It has been cold though so they're extra busy!

ReplyDeleteI found five! Love this shot. I really had to look to see them. The finches here are already a bit greenish. But they're still cute! :o)

Hah! Now you see them, now you don't... Love it.
ReplyDeleteTook me a bit to see through the camouflage ...
ReplyDeleteWonderful views of your garden in winter.
I wouldn't have seen the goldfinches without your clue. Clever birds and photographer.
ReplyDeleteEven on bare branches, the birds manage to blend right in. Like many other commenters, it took me a moment to see them.
