  1. Ah, Colorado. So stunning. I just made my reservations to fly out in Sept. to see my son. I want to see him so much, but I also want to see the mountains. They give me rest and peace.

  2. That's Rocky Mountain National Park, right? Awesome place, as long as the traffic isn't too heavy.

  5. I gasped when I saw that first photo. I've always dreamed of seeing the Rocky Mountains in full bloom. I once spent a month camping in the Wind River Wilderness area of Wyoming but September was too late for blooms and we were above the tree line mostly. Thanks for sharing your photos; both are stunning. Good luck with sending your daughter off to school. Now to reply to your comment on my blog.

  10. Oh, my, what a totally gorgeous area! We visit each November for 5 days while my husband attends a conference. I sure wish I could get them to schedule it earlier in the year!

  11. ** Deep sigh ** ... We usually only see CO in the Winter, so I miss the blooms of Summer. Your first shot reminds me of "The Sound of Music"... (even though that was in Austria!) Colorado is one of those places I would move in a "NY minute" if the 'fates allowed'. :)

  12. Glorious. I, too, have only ever seen the Colorado Rockies in winter, covered in snow. Beautiful to see the greens and blues, and all those lovely wildflowers.

  16. Not much scenery like that around these parts but it is reminiscent of a recent trip to Transylvania.

    Long may it remain unspoilt.
