Snow Day in ATX

We had the most unexpected of blessings today - a snow day.  On a Friday to boot.  What a great way to start the weekend.  And tomorrow, highs in the mid-60's.   It was only a dusting but the roads were icy so the city was paralyzed.  We can handle 110 but 27 and ice isn't really our thing.   ♥

  1. Sweet photo:) Very rare to see snow in Austin. We got more ice here in SA.

  2. How good to have you back here. A lot of us have been like our gardens, lately. Dormant.

What a winsome little bird. The day off was indeed an unexpected winter treat. While I realize most of us were at home and warm, I kept my fingers crossed for any who were forced to venture out. I hope you were all able to return to the comforts of your own homes and loved ones, safe and sound.

  4. Ice is much more difficult than snow. How nice that you had a touch of snow, too, and some time off to appreciate it! I'm so thankful that we have snow coating the earth this winter because we're having near record-breaking cold, especially at night. I hope I won't lose any perennials. Enjoy your nice long weekend!

  6. Right?? 110 no problem, a little snow and 27? Shut the city down. Ha. It was pretty though if only for a few moments while it lasted.

  7. We've been locked in a deep freeze and think some of my shrubs may die. :( But a little snow is fun in the winter, especially when it's unexpected.

  11. I would find 110 hard to bear, but snow, ice and freezing temperatures are an everyday thing. I guess it is just what you are used to! Stay warm Cat!

  12. It snowed here in SA too! Just a dusting but very cool nonetheless. And yes, Texans become paralyzed with a little snow. But it's a nice change indeed. Glad to see you back!
